Experience Idaho’s best backcountry terrain right here at Soldier Mountain! Soldier Snowcats offers full day tours into the spectacular Smoky Dome backcountry. Enjoy a comfortable ride in the 12 passenger snowcat carriage with flat screen TV and big windows for spectacular views.

Backcountry skiing is an exciting adventure for those independent skiers/boarders who have some knowledge of avalanche safety, skiing/boarding the fall line, and able to ski black diamond runs. All cat skier/boarders please remember to dress appropriately for the varying weather conditions you may encounter. Up to 12 people can be accommodated per trip. Be sure to book your trip early to take full advantage of the powder that awaits you!

This is a more inclusive package than the cat scratch program and includes about 7 hours of skiing or riding, an avalanche beacon, a backpack, and a Soldier Mountain Snow Cat hat. Available Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
